BIOGRAPHY
Carol O'Toole studied fine art at Birmingham School of Art and Falmouth School of Art.
Carol is a painter and printmaker, living and working in Cornwall and alongside her studio practice runs specialist workshops. She has lectured in art colleges in Somerset, Worcestershire and Cornwall.
Worling in a variety of media, Carol's larger works tend to be in oil, with a rich use of impasto paint and a focus on atmosphere and surface.
With a love of drawing and an understanding of the emotional impact of colour, her printmaking continues to evolve, from traditional etching on metal plates to collograph and monoprinting.
Many of her paintings depict Cornwall but her travels, both throughout Europe and further afield, also influence her work.
She has work in private collections in Switzerland, the United States and Egypt, as well as the UK.
