Anne Byrne was born in Liverpool where she attended art school.
Living in Cheshire, Anne likes to explore traditional mediums and disciplines like sculpture, photography, etching, as well as ceramics but a lot of her time is spent painting and drawing in her studio.
Her expressive form marking is derived from observation and she is influenced by a multiple of traditions and artists but in particular painters like Walter Sickert, Lucien Freud, Stanley Spencer, and Euan Uglow, who have exerted the most influence on her style.
Anne’s chosen medium is painting in oils but can include mixed media in her work as she expresses herself to achieve her vibrant and powerful work.
Anne has been heat winner and semi-finalist in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2023 as well as being featured in shows like ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh as well as Cheshire Life magazine in March 2023.
