Nell Kerr grew up in rural Wales and went on to do her BA in Fine Art Painting at Coventry University School of Art, before moving to Cornwall in 2004.
Her detailed paintings are studies of the surface of water: how it moves and how it changes with the light and the seasons: a challenging but endlessly inspiring subject to paint.
Nell spends time on or near the water as often as possible, either at the beach or along the Cornish rivers, and often in her beloved Canadian canoe. There, she gathers ideas and reference material for her beautiful art.
From her studio on a feeder stream to the Helford River, the proximity of water is a constant reminder and this helps her to live in the essence of the element she so loves and paints.
