Hope

Hope is one of the most powerful and uplifting thought processes we possess. Truly, without it, we and our dreams would be worthless. When we want things to improve, or indeed to stay the same, we need hope. Hope is the fuel of our aspirations.
But hope alone isn’t enough. Hoping, for me, is what we do after we’ve exhausted all the actions we can take to bring change to a situation, or to retain a dream. Anyone who believes that by doing the same thing time and time again, they will achieve a different outcome, is sadly mistaken. We have to play an active part in improving or retaining a situation before we can rest and leave hope to weave its magic.
We never know what the future will bring. This is where hope plays its most important role. But we must play an active role in bringing our desires to fruition. And with change being the only constant, even retaining a scenario we want, we need to act to sustain it.
So, plant your seeds of hope, but remember to water and tend to those dreams every day, otherwise, left to the elements, they will be prone to the whims of nature and perish.
Although, as broadcaster Tom Bodett said: “A person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for” we must also remember to give hope its best chance of survival by nurturing its growth into fruition.
